This will be a long review, but given the amount of effort it takes to pass this test and the amount of time and money you'll spend preparing for it, you deserve a long review. I enrolled in Zach's course as a first-time PE test taker. I was led here from Reddit, where I read countless positive reviews of his course, and none of them had anything negative to say.
First, the On Demand Course. It's organized great and takes you step by step through each topic. The videos are typically 5-20 minutes in length and are perfect for the busy individual. Like most of you, I have a full time career and little kids running around the house. Sometimes I only have 20 minutes to study, so those videos are perfect. I could watch them easily on my phone when I was putting kids to bed or riding as the passenger in a car. The short quizzes help you determine if you need to rewatch any videos.
The Live Class is great and stands by itself, although you'll definitely want to do both On Demand and Live. Even better is you can rewatch the Live Class the very next day. This allowed me to still keep a schedule where I was doing each class every week, but I could rewatch it the following day at 2x speed and cut down on the time commitment. The Live discussion during class is beneficially, but it does move fast.
The Discussion Board is the underrated area of what you get. Like most message boards, the majority of people will be lurkers and not post. But there is still a decent amount of activity with people asking questions and giving answers. And Zach makes an effort to answer any questions that haven't been addressed. I encourage everyone to not only post questions when you're stuck, but try to answer them even if you aren't confident. You will learn 100x better by typing out an answer to a question or typing up your own questions.
Studying for this test is a huge time commitment regardless of if you choose this course or someone else's. But I knew I wanted to minimize the amount of wasted time. I didn't want to flip through a bunch of text books. I didn't want to have to constantly be googling answers. I wanted a one-stop shop, and Zach's course allowed me to do that. For that reason, its worth the price tag.
I did not have much real experience in many of these topics. Most of this was new to me and I was able to learn it in three months. I walked out on exam day feeling fairly confident. I passed on my first attempt. The price of Zach's course may seem high, but its worth every penny to minimize your effort and maximum your chances of success.
